Mission Statement

The mission of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario is to ensure its members merit the confidence and trust of all who rely upon their professional knowledge, skills, judgment and integrity, while advocating the use of their professional expertise in the public interest.

Our Strategy

In order to achieve our vision and fulfil our mission, our strategy focuses on creating value around two broad themes:

• As a self-regulating body, protecting the public interest is CGA Ontario’s most important responsibility. CGA Ontario, as a professional body representing 20,000 CGAs plus 8,000 aspirants to the designation, is committed to contributing to the development of public policy that supports economic health and growth in Ontario.

• CGA Ontario will work with employers, educators and influencers to inform them of the value that CGAs bring to organizations of all types and sizes. Competency and currency are cornerstones of a CGA’s skill set. CGA Ontario provides relevant, continuing professional development to CGAs. Quality membership growth is key to the CGA designation’s future. The value of the CGA designation is enhanced by the solid reputation of the organization that owns the designation.
