Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities (AODA)

Ontario's new accessibility legislation is called the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. The Act is a follow up to the Ontarians with Disabiltiies Act, 2001 with the goal being a fully accessible Ontario by 2025.

As a result of the legislation, businesses and organizations who provide goods and services to people in Ontario will have to meet certain accessibility standards as outlined in the legislation.

It is CGA Ontario's goal to create an environment that is inclusive of all persons and treats all members of the community equally. The Association will work to identify, remove and prevent the adverse effects of barriers, including physical, environmental, attitudinal, communication and technological barriers, that may prevent the full participation of persons with disabilities in the community.
