Sault Ste. Marie Chapter

Sault Ste. Marie Chapter

Sault Ste. Marie Chapter has the distinction of being the smallest of CGA Ontario’s 18 chapters. Although inaugurated in 1975, Sault Ste. Marie Chapter’s history goes back to the 1930s as one of the first branch offices of the Certified General Accountants’ Association Ontario Branch. The first official chapter chair was Fred Konkin, CGA, and curiously the chapter’s first Annual General Meeting was held in 1977.

Today, Sault Ste. Marie Chapter has approximately 50 CGAs and 20 students in the CGA program. The majority of members live within the Sault proper; however, members live as far east as Elliot Lake and as far north as Wawa.
