Windsor Chapter

Along with Durham, Hamilton, London, Niagara, Sarnia-Lambton and Sault Ste. Marie chapters, Windsor has the distinction of having roots that stretch back to the 1930s as one of the first branch offices of the Certified General Accountants’ Association Ontario Branch. It was not until the 1964-65 year, however, that CGA Ontario Windsor Chapter was inaugurated as the fledgling Association’s seventh chapter. During its first year as a new chapter of CGA Ontario, Walter Kulyk, CGA, served as first chapter chair.
Today, much of the industry that first drew CGAs to the City of Windsor has suffered cutbacks and layoffs. However, the City of Windsor continues to thrive and Windsor Chapter’s 360 CGAs and students in the CGA program of professional studies continue to be employed in all three levels of government, public accounting firms and in the industrial sector.
