Award for Excellence

CGA Ontario has been bestowing its Award for Excellence for nearly a decade, providing students with a cash award and scholarship monies for use toward the CGA program of professional studies.

After careful consideration CGA Ontario will withdraw its offering of the Award for Excellence at the end of the 2010-11 academic year. We will honour the award for full-time graduating students who meet the criteria up to April 30, 2011.

In its place, we are expanding our scholarship options and programs through a variety of new mediums. The CGA DO MORE website (cga-domore.org) provides prospective students an opportunity to receive a $2,500 CGA program scholarship. CGA Ontario’s annual Accounting Contest and other Association sponsored events will provide further award opportunities during the academic year.

We have also conducted extensive research to evaluate possibilities for offering new academic scholarships to students who are intent on pursuing the CGA designation and have proven academic achievement and/or student leadership achievement on campus or within the community. We will continue to seek new initiatives that students will value and institutions will proudly offer.
