Terms of Reference

Discipline Committee

1. Investigate possible infractions of the Code of Ethical Principles and Rules of Conduct.

2. Resolve complaints where possible, under the terms of the prescribed disciplinary procedure.
 
3. Act as prosecutor where unresolved complaints must be referred for final disposition to a professional conduct tribunal established under the prescribed disciplinary procedures.
 
4. Report the final disposition of disciplinary cases once per year, as an appendix to the discipline committee’s Final Committee Report.
 
5. Recommend changes to the Association's Bylaws and the Code of Ethical Principles and Rules of Conduct when the need for change is identified via the discipline process.
 
6. Publicize discipline decisions to show the reality of the Code of Ethical Principles and Rules of Conduct.
 
7. Deal with breaches of the Code of Ethical Principles and Rules of Conduct in a consistent manner.
